Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT is a method of resolving difficult or intense emotions, pain and trauma by means of tapping on meridian points in the body. It’s often referred to as emotional acupuncture.
The idea is that negative emotions are a result of distruption of the body’s energy system, causing blockages.
Tapping with a suitably qualified person can help lower the intensity of emotions and identify any underlying difficulties or limiting beliefs that may be involved.
I use tapping if it feels appropriate as part of psychotherpy sessions in combination with other modalities or methods of working.
One of the benefits of EFT is that the tapping, once learned can be used as a self-help technique to calm the body and the mind.
